Job Summary: The Supervision Specialist, under the direction and supervision of the Facility Director, is responsible for the overall accountability of client’s maintenance and security of the physical plant, and is responsible for establishing and maintaining all documentation related to the Residential Reentry Center. The Supervision Specialist must ensure that the needs, safety, and welfare of the clients are met and that the physical plant is secure and well maintained. The Supervision Specialist works shifts/weekends/holidays as required. The Supervision Specialist must be CPR/First Aid certified and complete all required training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable and maintain strict adherence to agency policy and procedure, Statement of Work, and ACA Standards.
  • Maintain strict accountability at all times.
  • Perform security checks, client counts, and telephone contacts.
  • Ensure visitors correctly sign/in/out of the facility.
  • Ensure clients/visitors follow rules/procedures.
  • Ensure searches of the facility, vehicles and personal belongings of clients are preformed as needed, but at a minimum of once per month. All bags and carry in items will be searched upon entering the facility to eliminate contraband from entering the facility. (Understand how to use Narcotics Identification Kit.)
  • Ensure the facility is inspected each shift worked.
  • Perform emergency drills monthly as instructed by the Facility Director.
  • Maintain high level of sanitation at all times.
  • Knowlege of Material Safety Data Sheets with all guidelines concerning storage, issuance, handling, and accountability of flammable liquids, hazardous chemicals, toxic and caustic materials used in the facility.
  • Understand client components, level systems and program status.
  • Conduct urine testing.
  • Maintain alcohol surveillance.
  • Comply with authorized absences by sign out, pass, furlough, or home confinement program.
  • Take fingerprints.
  • Assist with intake.
  • Issue/inventory resident medications.
  • Comply without any deviation, to the BOP prescribed policy and procedure for inmate description; proper documentation will be done timely and filed appropriately.
  • NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY AS STIPULATED IN THE NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES/NUMBERS MEMORANDUM.
  • Comply with food service/medical service requirements.
  • Follow proper procedures to practice pest control.
  • Safeguard records in accordance with the SOW and The Privacy Act.
  • Escape procedures will be strictly followed. The Program Director will determine if a client should be identified as an escapee. The RRM/USPO and USM must be notified immediately. Resident property must be secured and inventoried by two staff within eight hours.
  • Notify Staff Duty Officer (SDO) and RRM/USPO immediately when a client becomes seriously ill or requires emergency medical treatment.
  • Track, maintain and follow up all Work Orders using the Work Order System and ensuring all preventative maintenance is scheduled and conducted, communicating with the State Office.
  • Track, maintain and follow up on all client admissions and discharges and enter client information into the database as well as reporting this information to the State Office.
  • Track, maintain and review all UA reports to ensure compliance and forward reports monthly to the State Office
  • Track, maintain and review all weekly Client Rosters and submit rosters to the State Office.
  • Track, maintain and review Weekly Status Reports and compare to resident rosters and submit weekly to the State Office
  • Conduct, maintain and document a facility inventory quarterly and submit results to the State Office.
  • Assist the Facility Director in preventing deficiencies on monitoring reports.
  • Report any technical assistance issues to the State Office.
  • Track daily client information systems and communicate any client changes to the State Office/RRM.
  • Follow Sexual Abuse/Assault Prevention and Intervention Programs.
  • Any instances of unusual and/or non-routine happenings concerning the facility or client management must be telephonically communicated to the SDO immediately.
  • Safety of clients and staff shall be given highest priority. The use of physical force shall be resorted to only in instances of justifiable self-defense for the prevention of loss or damage to property, and to prevent a client from self-inflicted harm. Only the degree of force necessary to control the situation is allowed; excessive force is prohibited. Any instances where use of force is required shall be telephonically reported immediately to the RRM; a written report will follow within 24 hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge Of:

  • Population Served
  • Computer and Spreadsheet Development

Skills In:

  • Communication effectively orally and in writing

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of three years experience in Social and Behavior Science field or
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Social or Behavioral Science Program from an accredited college or university

Licenses, Training and Certification:

  • Valid SC Driver’s License
  • Proof of Auto Liability Insurance if required
  • Proof of education and credentials will be required for employment if received a Baccalaureate or higher

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.20 - $21.00 per hour
