Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI is looking for a full-time Human Resource Manager. As the Human Resource Manager you will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, leaves of absences, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partners with the ownership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs including; recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Maintain personnel files and meet legal reporting requirements
- Maintain and update employee handbook, job descriptions and training requirements
- Coordinate corporate training and development programs
- Research and select in-house and off-site training
- Remain current with OSHA regulations
- Maintain a close working relationship with departments
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- A minimum of ten years of progressive human resource management experience with at least three years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of employment law, payroll, benefits, and accounting principles

Job Type: Regular Full-Time
Job Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm
Work Location: Friesland, WI
Travel Requirements: 0-10%; travel to farm locations as needed

Physical and Environmental Demands:
- The ability to sit/stand in one place for extended periods
- Various repetitive movements. Good manual dexterity to perform required duties
- Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
- Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
