Job description

General Responsibilities

Alta Care Group, Inc. will be hiring, 1 full time or 2 part-time Maintenance/Janitorial Workers to work at our various locations over Mahoning and Trumbull County. Overall responsibility for provision, of routine maintenance of Alta owned and operated facilities, grounds, and operating equipment and routine janitorial services of Alta facilities, so as to assure the safe, functional, sound, aesthetic and sanitary operations of Alta properties. Assist the Facilities Manager in assessing, planning and implementing of properties' preventative maintenance programs, assessing needs for repair, replacement of equipment. Assist the Facilities Manager as may be necessary to achieve Alta goals as they may involve the aesthetic, functional, sound and sanitary operations of Alta properties and equipment.

Specific Responsibilities

Provide for minor maintenance and repair of facility Equipment properties and equipment, including but not limited to Maintenance lighting fixtures, painting, general carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating/ventilation systems repair and maintenance. Assist with the maintenance of walks, parking and grounds as necessary to maintain safe and aesthetic appearance. This includes but not limited to:

· Assuring walkway and parking area snow removal, cleaning;

· Grass and tree/shrub trimming, planting, weeding and clean up.

Janitorial Services: Provide for the routine cleaning and disinfecting of Alta facilities according to established Alta schedules, which shall include but not be limited to:

· Cleaning and disinfecting of all Alta public and staff bathrooms, showers and dressing areas.

· Cleaning and disinfecting of all Alta Kitchens and eating areas.

· Cleaning, dusting and vacuuming of Alta lobbies and waiting areas, including buffing of tiles areas.

· Trash removal, cleaning, waxing, dusting, vacuuming of Alta offices and service sites.

· Ordering, storage and restocking of bathroom and kitchen paper products and dispensers.

Inventory Control: The organizing of storage areas and stored equipment and supplies. Inventory control of Alta owned equipment. Restocking of needed maintenance and janitorial supplies

and materials. See to the purchase, storage and allocation of necessary tools, supplies and equipment as needed to perform required routine duties and/or specific repairs and maintenance activities.

Health and Safety: In consultation with the Alta's Safety Officer, be aware and advise, as needed, of required OSHA/Health Department Standards for the safe operation of facility public service areas as it involves the cleaning activities, cleaning materials and schedules for such janitorial Maintenance. In consultation with the Alta's Safety Officer, assist in the monitoring and maintenance of facility safety program equipment to include but not limited to:

· Operational checks of fire, burglary and emergency alert equipment.

· Operational checks of emergency escape and fire-fighting equipment.

Support to the Agency: Attend departmental/staff/Board meetings as requested to consult on related facility/equipment repair maintenance activities.

· Attend continuing education and training activities so as to enhance skills.

· Provide reports when requested related to job activities as may be required by the Facilities Manager.

· Maintain, provide necessary records as requested by the Facilities Manager for compliance with the Financial Standards and Policies of Alta.

· Sign necessary forms and documents as required to meet internal/external funding, accrediting standards for facility operation.

· Maintain accurate and detailed records as required to account, verify and report on activities, services and materials obtained/maintained by the employee.

· Comply with incident reporting procedures, as well as all Alta Policies and Procedures, as they apply to this position.

· Conduct and complete reports for facility inspections every 6 months, and coordinate with Safety Officer for Safety inspections.

Preventive Maintenance: Develop and when needed (at least annually ) review Alta's facility and equipment preventative maintenance program. Revising the schedule as needed to assure a schedule of maintenance to enhance the useable life of properties and equipment. Carry out and/or assure the carrying out of activities consistent with the schedule and report to the Facilities Manager the completion of such activities.

  • Time Accounting: Maintain and file on a timely basis, work hours, as required by the agency's time accounting system.
  • Responsible for responding to the alarm system (includes after hours/weekends), per Alta procedures. Must coordinate with Police or Fire Department, notify alarm monitoring company.
  • As requested, assist in activities which may require the setup, disassembly, storage, transport or disposal of facility equipment and properties, to include not limited to: Preparing of rooms for meetings or recreational activities. Delivery, pick up and assembly of office/program equipment. Moving of furniture.
  • As needed, assist in the bidding of work, contracting and oversight of contractors performing services related to repair, maintenance of facility property and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager consistent with position's General Responsibilities.

Specific Essential Conditions of Employment:

1. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

2. Ability to provide own transportation to and from Alta facilities. If operating own vehicle during Alta business, current auto liability insurance to minimum limits required by State of Ohio, and valid Ohio Driver's License required.

3. Citizen of United States.

4. Absence of past criminal record of activity which would bring into question personal integrity and trustworthiness as it applies to the responsibilities of the position.

5. With reasonable accommodation, ability to perform the physical tasks required and to operate powered and non-powered equipment utilized in carrying out the responsibilities of the position, which includes by are not limited to: office phones, calculator, powered hand tools, snow blowers, van or truck operations, lawn maintenance power equipment, vacuum cleaners, floor polisher.

6. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in general handy-man repair and maintenance activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

1. Trade School graduate in Skilled Trade area.

2. Prior Janitorial/ Office cleaning experience.

3. Specialized Training Certification by State or national accrediting organization in one or more of the following: Carpentry, Heating/Ventilating, Electrical, Landscape, Plumbing, Masonry, Auto/Equipment Mechanics.

4. Documented participation in specialized training activities in one or more of the areas stated in item 2 above.

Experience:

  • general handy-man repair and maintenance activities: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Trade School graduate in Skilled Trade area: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Specialized Training Certification by State: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Specialized training Carpentry, Heating, Electrical, Plumbing: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.48 - $19.40 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
