POSITION: Respite Worker

Alta Care Group, the area’s leading expert in strengthening vulnerable children, is the parent organization of Alta Behavioral Healthcare, a contract agency of the Mahoning County Mental Health Board, and Alta Head Start, the County’s provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services. Today, staff consisting of nearly 300 people offers a full range of counseling, community support, 24-hour emergency crisis intervention, experiential therapy and psychiatric services to a yearly average of over 3000 children and their families.

Seeking a candidate for a part time (up to 10/week). A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Background check and drug screening required.

Candidate must possess:

· Desire to help children and adolescence thrive in their home and communities.

· Ability to support and manage individuals with mental health and development disabilities.

· Characteristics that help with engagement with individuals and families in a positive manner

· Willingness to assist with daily living skills.

· Ability to engage client in redirection and behavioral management strategies when needed.

· Ability to implement recommended non-behavioral therapeutic interventions under the direction of a professional (occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy. Etc.)

· Willingness to engage in community access activities that help connect clients to their neighborhoods.

· Willingness/Ability to drive a 15-passenger van at times for group respite outings.

Pay rate: $15.45 / hour
