Alta Southwest (Phoenix and Tucson) is seeking energetic and highly motivated engineering interns to join our team in both our Phoenix and Tucson locations. The ideal candidate will have a technical background / education in geotechnical, civil, geological, environmental, mechanical engineering, construction or related field. Responsibilities and Expectations :
- Travel to and Perform field sampling or testing
- Collect and classify soil samples for geotechnical investigations
- Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Assist in preparing technical reports
- Ability to work on a team or independently on less complex projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required
Preferred Competencies
Physical Demands
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Qualifications :
Currently enrolled in college or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological Engineering or related field.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive to our project sites.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
