Shop Supervisor

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Shop Supervisor for our Construction Equipment group at our Tampa, FL branch. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: Supervise the operation of the shop Foster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphere Coordinate cartage for internal and external customers. Review & analyze department data meet sales and profit goals Monitor work in progress on every work order in the shop Monitor employee training progress Keep responsible for condition of facility Incorporate and reinforce Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: 4-6 years of previous supervisory experience preferred Possessing strong mentoring qualities a plus General knowledge of equipment highly preferred, specifically Volvo experience a plus Good mechanical aptitude Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task Good customer relations and people skills Ability to successfully manage and mentor others Computer Skills a plus - Hyster/Yale Contact Management, Sage Quest, Crystal Reports, PayTrace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, eServiceTech Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
