Job Description:
As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and products to customers or designated locations. You will be required to operate a delivery vehicle, follow established routes, and ensure timely delivery of items. In addition to delivery duties, you will also be responsible for conducting product merchandising activities and collecting customer payments.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Verify delivery instructions and addresses, and communicate with dispatch or customers as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, including professional interaction and assistance as required.
- Inspect delivery vehicle regularly and perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate safety gear and following proper lifting techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery logs, and any other relevant documentation.
- Assist with warehouse tasks, such as picking and packing orders, as needed.
- Conduct product merchandising activities during deliveries, ensuring that products are displayed attractively and in accordance with company guidelines.
- Collect customer payments accurately and promptly, following established procedures and ensuring proper documentation.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role.
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and routes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying deliveries.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends, if required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry packages as needed.
- Knowledge of inventory management software is a plus.
