Alta Care Group, the area’s leading expert in strengthening vulnerable children, is the parent organization of Alta Behavioral Healthcare, a contract agency of the Mahoning County Mental Health Board, and Alta Head Start, the County’s provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services. Today, staff consisting of nearly 300 people offers a full range of counseling, community support, 24-hour emergency crisis intervention, experiential therapy and psychiatric services to a yearly average of over 3000 children and their families.
Alta Care Group in partnership with the Family and Children First Councils are looking for a Family Peer Support Worker to help families improve and maintain their lives with a focus on their mental health and overall wellness.
The MRSS Program Coordinator/Supervisor position is a full time position that will include other duties determined by the Coordinator/Supervisors licensure and experience. The MRSS Coordinator/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Mobile Response and Stabilization Service (MRSS) service. The MRSS Program Coordinator will be accountable for providing day-to-day support, leadership, and general supervision to their assigned unit.
MRSS is a structured community based, in-person, intervention and support service for youth and families, provided by a mobile response and stabilization service team. It is a prevention-focused emergency program that serves as a gateway to other services across the system of care. MRSS is designed to promptly address situations in which young people are experiencing emotional symptoms, behaviors, or traumatic circumstances that compromise or impact their ability to function within their family, living situation, school, or community. The youth and family guide MRSS interventions, with the strengths and needs of the young person and family determining the types and mix of services and supports provided.
The MRSS Coordinator/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a 24/7/365 mobile crisis service that serves families with youth and young adults up to age 21 who are experiencing difficulties or distress and provide assistance within MRSS guidelines, based on acuity. This service also provides in-home stabilization services and linkage to on-going supports. The youth and family guide MRSS interventions, with the strengths and needs of the young person and family determining the types and mix of services and supports provided.
Work Conditions
Variable hours of work which may include weekends and occasional travel.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, education or other relevant human service profession.
2. Two (2) years’ experience in children and family services.
3. Licensure from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (LPC, LMFT, LSW)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Independent Licensure from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (LPCC, LISW, IMFT)
2. Specific experience in clinical activities with a focus on child and family therapy, diagnosis of psychopathology, treatment of severe behavior disorders, treatment of abuse and neglect related disorders, treatment of children at risk for hospitalization and out of home placement most preferred.
3. Supervisory experience.
4. Program Development/Coordination experience.

Salary Range: $64,000-$80,000 / annually
