We are a leading Drafting and Permitting company specializing in fire restoration projects. Our work plays a critical role in ensuring seamless project execution, and we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager to lead this department.  This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in permitting, drafting, and project coordination who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with engineers, estimators, and field teams.

Position: Drafting and Permitting Department Manager                                
Location:    Roseville, CA
Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience  
Status:   Full-Time / Direct Hire Position     
Hours:   Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00pm

Primary responsibilities may include the following:    
 
  1. Permitting and Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit permit applications for various residential and commercial projects, including building, electrical, and temporary power permits.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and ordinances.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local permitting offices to streamline processes and address any issues promptly.
 
  1. Project Coordination:
  • Collaborate with engineers, estimators, and project managers to ensure all plans are accurate, compliant, and meet project deadlines.
  • Coordinate with utility companies and local agencies for re-energize & temporary power setups, demolition permits and other required services.
  • Oversee drafting deliverables to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
 
  1. Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor the drafting and permitting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set clear goals for team members to achieve departmental objectives.
 
  1. Process Optimization:
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and standard operating procedures for drafting and permitting tasks.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes, tools, and team productivity.
 
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, plans, and approvals for all active projects.
  • Generate regular reports on project progress, permitting timelines, and team performance.
  • Track and analyze key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
 
  1. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for drafting and permitting inquiries, both internally and externally.
  • Communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide updates.

Minimum requirements for consideration for this role are:   
 
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
 
  1. Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, permitting, or construction project management.
  • Proven experience managing a team.
 
  1. Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge in CAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes and permitting processes.
 
  1. Soft Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
