ALTA IT has an exciting Direct Hire position available for a Cloud Systems Administrator.

Onsite - Chantilly, VA, Alexandria, VA or St Louis, MO
We are looking for a skilled System Administrator to join our mission operations team, focusing on cloud-based systems. This team plays a vital role in the operation and maintenance of multiple geospatial solutions deployed in the cloud. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in installing, configuring, managing, and supporting cloud-based infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will :
Respond efficiently to user Incident Reports (INCs).
Monitor all operational systems and conduct routine health checks.
Deploy security patches and bug fixes across test and operational environments.
Update databases with the latest data.
Perform basic system maintenance as needed.
Assist with software deployment activities.
Maintain and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
Required Skills :
Clearance : Active TS / SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph after hire.
Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience; alternatively, 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
DOD 8570 Certification (Security or equivalent or higher).
Experience with AWS / Cloud technologies.
Advanced Linux administration skills, specifically with RHEL 7 or higher.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server.
Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, Software Development, and Software Sustainment Practices.
Experience with Windows administration.
Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with ArcGIS / ESRI automation and deployments.
In-depth knowledge of NiFi Apache (orchestration software), Python machine learning algorithms, and Machine Learning (ML) skills, particularly in unstructured text parsing and Tomcat.
Understanding of RDS and SQL technologies.
AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification.
Experience with IC Cloud Architecture implementation methodologies.
Using team collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, Hipchat / RocketChat / Mattermost).
