Job Description :
We are seeking a Mid-Level Linux System Administrator to join our dynamic IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of our Linux-based systems and network infrastructure. The role will involve working with various teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and security while troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
As a key member of the team, the Linux System Administrator will also have responsibilities related to systems monitoring, backup, and security, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
Configure, deploy, and manage servers, databases, and network services.
Monitor system performance and security, applying necessary patches and updates.
Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery, and troubleshoot hardware / software issues.
Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
Work with development and operations teams to deploy and support applications in a Linux environment.
Provide technical support for Linux systems and assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Ensure adherence to company security policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Create and maintain system documentation, including installation guides, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning.
Collaborate with IT and Security teams to identify and resolve vulnerabilities or security gaps.
Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
Required Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Certifications :
Security Certification (or equivalent cybersecurity certification).
OS Certification : Linux (e.g., RHCSA, CompTIA Linux , or similar).
Experience : 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions).
Hands-on experience with system administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, and monitoring.
Experience with network protocols, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and SSH.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
