Comments and Other Information
EXPERIENCE : One year paid experience working with students learning English as a second language preferred. DESIRED : Possess and use a second language and provide cultural experiences to assist students with bilingual / bicultural needs. Ability to serve as a translator and interpreter to facilitate communication at assigned school and / or agreed upon District meetings.
EDUCATION : Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade PLUS 2 years (48 sem. or 72 qtr. units) of college study OR an Associates (A.A.) Degree or higher, OR an Instructional Aide Proficiency Certificate dated after May 2003, which can be administered by ALSD, if needed. Applicants who have received a proficiency certificate are also required to complete a writing assessment administered by ALSD.
IF SELECTED THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED : Fingerprint verification at an approximate cost of $64 to the employee; Proof of TB clearance (within 4 years) at employee's cost or a "Certificate of Completion" signed by a licensed health care provider for the Adult TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire; Certificate of Completion for the CA Mandated Reporter Training, dated after July 1, 2024.
