Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) will provide bedside care and nursing support under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) throughout VANCHCS facilities. LVNs contribute to care planning, administer medications, and assist in treatments, documentation, and patient monitoring.
Responsibilities
Education: Graduate of an accredited program in practical or vocational nursing.
License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted LVN license in any U.S. state or territory.

- Deliver direct patient care and report changes in condition to supervising RN.
- Assist with treatments including sterile dressing changes, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Perform basic diagnostic support duties and record all interventions in CPRS.
- Monitor and document patient condition, intake/output, and vital signs.
- Participate in procedures and assist physicians as needed.
- Support patient education efforts and reinforce provider instructions.
- Maintain narcotic security and documentation when applicable.
- Support safety and infection control standards.
Education: Graduate of an accredited program in practical or vocational nursing.
License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted LVN license in any U.S. state or territory.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- ProAct/MAB - Required for psychiatric units Experience: At least one year of relevant LVN experience.
