Operations Supervisor Senior - PSP
Job Summary:
Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for an Operations Supervisor Senior - PSP. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Experimental Mechanic Supervisor.
- Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations. Testing operations include Battery Lab, Brake Development Lab, Road Test Simulation, Engineering Garage.
- Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Be integral to the path to Zero Injuries.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other ARDC operational functions.
- Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment.
- Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Oversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment.
- Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability.
- Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests.
- Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks.
- Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets.
- Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment.
Basics:
- Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation.
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit.
- 5-10 years of experience in a unionized labour environment.
- Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefit.
- Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs.
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Willing to work weekends and shift work as required.
- Position 100% onsite.
- Driving of a vehicle required.
- Occasional travel to US required - Occasional meaning 1 to 2 times per month for trainings/meetings.
