Job Summary :
Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for a Strategic Buyer. This is a Direct position.
What You Will Do :
- Lead full sourcing process with activities as RFQ / RFI, technical reviews and obtain Council approval for new business awards.
- Works in cooperation with other teams and functions to make the best supplier selection.
- Negotiates contracts for prices and terms with outside suppliers for new and carryover components.
- Develops and maintains commodity strategies in cooperation with other regions and in alignment with organizational needs and targets.
- Follows market price trends and general business activities.
- Manages supplier commercial issues.
- Ensures compliance to GSM Policies and Procedures.
- Establishes Annual Material Budget and performs monthly budget analysis.
- Works with suppliers and internal resources to identify, develop and implement material cost savings.
- Develop new suppliers / disruptors to properly support the needs of each product line.
- Develop and execute plan for localization to increase regional content.
- Negotiate, implement and maintain up to date prices per material contracts with supply base in alignment with customer agreements.
