Test Engineer - HILS
Job Summary
Test Engineer - HILS (Troy, MI, or other unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.). Responsibilities include: Planning, setting up, and conducting HILS (hardware-in-loop) tests for automotive steering and related chassis systems. Identifying vehicle hardware HILS installation fixture needs and coordinate fixture making. Installing steering systems (HW & SW) for different vehicle projects on HILS, including establishing control interface between steering system ECU and HILS. Running daily HILS tests, interpreting results, creating reports, and providing test follow-up suggestions. Arranging necessary maintenance and annual calibration of HILS system. Supporting the activities for correlating HILs results and vehicle measurement. Supporting component, system, and vehicle tests for vehicle modeling & validation purposes. Calibrating steering Parameters to reach subjective and Objective targets using Hardware in the loop (HIL) and Driver in the loop (DIL).
Education/Experience Required
MS Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering or closely related. Academic program/Internships must have included: MSC Adams, VI-Car Realtime, Carmaker, SolidWorks, CATIA, Hypermesh, MATLAB, SIMULINK, DIL/HIL. Telecommuting permitted.
40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
