Job Title : Pipeline Technician / Damage Prevention Technician

Job Summary :
The Pipeline Technician / Damage Prevention Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity and safety of pipeline systems. This role involves conducting inspections, performing maintenance, and implementing damage prevention strategies to minimize risks associated with pipeline operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct regular inspections of pipeline systems to identify potential issues or hazards.
Utilize advanced technology and tools to monitor pipeline conditions and detect leaks or corrosion.Maintenance and Repairs :Perform routine maintenance on pipeline infrastructure, including valves, pumps, and fittings.
Assist in the repair and replacement of damaged pipeline sections as needed.Damage Prevention :Implement damage prevention programs, including public awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
Collaborate with local authorities and utility companies to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.Data Management :Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
Utilize GIS and other software tools to analyze pipeline data and track performance metrics.Emergency Response :Participate in emergency response drills and training sessions.
Respond to pipeline incidents and coordinate with emergency services to mitigate risks.Regulatory Compliance :Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding pipeline safety and environmental protection.
Prepare for and assist with regulatory audits and inspections.Qualifications :
Education :High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in pipeline technology or a related field preferred.
Experience :Minimum of 2 years of experience in pipeline operations, maintenance, or damage prevention.
Familiarity with pipeline inspection techniques and safety protocols.Skills :Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using pipeline monitoring and inspection tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.Certifications :Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record
Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HAZWOPER) are a plus.Working Conditions :
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.May require travel to different job sites.Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipmentModerate heavy lifting with and without assistanceWork on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practicesSubject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidaysReliable attendance at workMust be able to maintain OQ training for assigned tasksOccasional overnight travel may be requiredBenefits :
