Responsibilities
Primary Job Functions:
- Transport consumers to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments
- Responsible for ensuring that all safety protocol is used
- Maintain excellent driving skills, the ability to safely operate and maneuver a large vehicle, and compliance with rules and regulations for passenger transport
- Follow specific routes or schedules and may use GPS technology to outline routes and monitor whether they are on schedule.
- Must consider factors such as traffic and weather conditions that may affect their route and be able to quickly adjust for unexpected road closures or hazards.
- Inspect and maintain their vehicles to ensure safe operation.
- Keep daily logs of their stops, mileage, and passengers
- Report any all traffic violations to supervisor in a timely manner
- Report any traffic accidents to supervisor immediately
- Assist consumers in shopping, encouraging healthy options, and ensuring receipts are obtained and turned into the Consumer Representative Payee
- Assist consumers in adhering to purchases that were listed on their check requests when special requests are made and approved
- Maintain established institutional policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Supervision and Consultation
- Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed
- Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement
Clinical Record Keeping
- Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy
- Documents appropriate and complete provision of services in each consumers chart
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- There is frequent to constant standing while organizing/stocking groceries.
- Sitting occasionally to do documentation/ordering of supplies/groceries. Extended sitting up to 2 hours for documentation. Sitting can also be in frequent bursts of up to 10 minutes.
- Walking various distances on grounds to each home. This activity could be several time a week. (could be up to 300 feet)
- There is frequent forward bending from the hips to load boxes for each house with groceries/supplies.
- Squatting/lunging frequently to stock/organize groceries/supplies.
- Strong grasp is needed frequently to constantly handle groceries/supplies when lifting, sorting and grasping the handle to the delivery door when opening/closing.
- Simple grasp/pinch grip is needed to frequently to handle smaller weighted items, using office supplies (i.e. scissors), and close zip lock bags.
- Fine manipulation for writing, handling paperwork, date entry (computer).
- Pushing/pulling force (vertical) up to 30 pounds occasionally; 10 pounds force (horizontal) to open standing and upright freezer doors frequently during shift.
- Lifting various ranges from the floor to overhead with weights up to 5-15 pounds frequently and 30-40 pounds from the floor to 48 inches to stock groceries/supplies and up to 15 pounds to handle reams of paper and files.
- Employees working in this area will be handling frozen products for several hours while organizing groceries for each home.
- Carrying up to 15 pounds various distances.
- Step ladder climbing to access higher shelves for filing, stocking/retrieving.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least age 23, maintain a valid verifiable driver license and maintain a clear driving record.
Knowledge in mental health service provision, outlined below, to be attained within six (6) months of employment:
- Knowledge of appropriate ways to interact with population served
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
- Knowledge of Mobile County and surrounding areas
