Job Summary
We are seeking a Mid to Senior level Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator team member with knowledge of performance tuning SQL Server objects such as procedures, functions, and views, and preferably with AWS or Azure Cloud exposure. This person will join a small, experienced database team working in a fast-paced environment for a great company where your opinion and experience matters. We have both AWS and Azure production OLTP and DW BI databases that need to be maintained to keep our clients satisfied, as well as hundreds of development databases that need attention on a case-by-case basis. We have various SQL Server versions from 2014 to 2022.
Responsibilities
- Provide DBA support across all environments (from Development through Production) to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Troubleshoot urgent production database escalations.
- Assist with the vision, design, deployment, and support of our database infrastructure and operations.
- Architect our database infrastructure to ensure reliable, robust, and secure infrastructure to support current and expected business growth.
- Ensure appropriate technology and security controls are designed and implemented to meet customer, compliance, and regulatory requirements, and optimize database platforms for cost, speed of delivery, and target performance.
- Help define company-wide database standards and best practices.
- Develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and remove organizational barriers for strong teamwork.
- Define and implement critical KPIs / OKRs, SLAs, and metrics necessary to manage and monitor the performance of overall operations, and manage incident, problem, and change management.
