Location – Remote with weekly in-person meetings in Fullerton, CA (local candidates only)

Hourly Rate - $45

For this role, Altech is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support a key data science initiative for Fieldpiece, a leading innovator in HVACR tools. Since 1990, Fieldpiece has been at the forefront of delivering rugged, feature-rich solutions for HVACR professionals.

SUMMARY :

As a Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate closely with a senior developer and other team members to build and maintain scalable web applications and cloud-based solutions. This role requires a solid foundation in full-stack development, a passion for delivering high-quality software, and the ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Full Stack Development :

Design, develop, and maintain web applications across the full technology stack.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, Python).
  • Collaborate on front-end and back-end architecture to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Cloud Integration :

    • Work with AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway) to build and optimize cloud-based applications.

  • Implement microservices and integrate cloud solutions into the application architecture.
  • Collaboration with Team Members :

    • Work under the guidance of the senior developer to align with project goals.

  • Contribute to discussions on architecture, design, and project planning.
  • Agile Development & Collaboration :

    • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Use tools like Jira and GitHub to track progress and manage workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • DevOps and Deployment :

    • Assist with CI / CD pipelines and deployment strategies to ensure smooth software releases.

  • Follow best practices for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Startup Environment and Agility :

    • Adapt to changing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, iterative development process.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

    • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills :

    • 3–5 years of experience in full-stack development, with exposure to startup environments or fast-paced teams.

  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Django).
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including S3 and Lambda.
  • Basic understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Methodologies & Tools :

    • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.

  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet).
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git preferred).
  • Soft Skills :

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing requirements.

    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD tools.
  • Experience working in SaaS or DaaS environments.
  • Exposure to database management systems (e.g., MySQL).

    • COMPETENCIES :

  • Continually required to stand / sit and utilize hand and finger dexterity.
