We are seeking an Entry-Level Linux Systems Administrator to provide systems administration support for various technical assignments. This position is ideal for candidates with 1-2 years of experience who are eager to apply their knowledge of fundamental system administration concepts, processes, and best practices.

Job Title : Entry-Level Linux Systems Administrator (Huntsville, AL)

Salary – $50,000 – $52,000 Annually

Location – Huntsville, AL - Onsite at Marshal Space Flight Center located on the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL (some remote support provisioned)

Job Description :

Under general supervision, the responsibilities include :

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux-based operating systems on workstations and servers , including virtual, cloud, and web servers, to meet business processing requirements.
• Performing software installations, upgrades, and patches for operating systems and software packages in compliance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Scheduling installations and upgrades and monitoring systems for optimal performance.
• Ensuring data integrity and recoverability by managing software / hardware solutions, conducting system backups, and database archive operations.
• Managing media storage and retrieval through internal processes or offsite services.
• Conducting hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with organizational standards and maintaining a comprehensive configuration database / library for all supporting documentation.
