Overview - Altech has an immediate need for a Mid-Sr. LAN Network Engineer, to support NASA's Marshal Space Flight Center in Huntsville AL or in Houston, Texas. This position will support NASA’s Mission Network supporting the International Space Station, JWST, Hubble, Artemis, as well as most NASA Satellite Missions. The AEGIS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide.
Mid-Sr. LAN Network Engineer - Altech Solutions is hiring Mid-Sr. LAN Network Engineer(s) for our NASA communications contract called AEGIS.
Location – Huntsville, AL or Houston, TX
Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite work is required
Salary – $100 k Full Benefits (PTO, Holiday Pay, 401K match, Health benefits etc.,)
Duration – 10-12 Months
Clearance – Minimum Public Trust is Required
Education – bachelor’s degree with a min of 6 years of experience
US Citizenship Required
Responsibilities :
- Provide advanced networking support and lead complex projects for a large enterprise LAN environment
- Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper switching infrastructure, including Cisco 9300 and Juniper EX series switches
- Utilize tools like Splunk and NetBrain for network monitoring, analytics, and troubleshooting
- Demonstrate strong understanding of security technologies like Stealthwatch and ISE
- Lead hardware refresh projects involving hundreds of network switches across the enterprise
- Create detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for complex network changes
- Leverage communication tools like Remedy and Microsoft Teams to effectively collaborate with remote teams and local "smart hands"
- Implement and support IPv6 networking protocols and infrastructure
