Job Description :
The Robotic Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robotic equipment design and application standards while leading optimization projects to enhance machine operations. This role supports Body Shops, General Assembly, and Paint operations, ensuring robotic systems meet technical and business objectives. The specialist will also drive advanced training programs, process standardization, and system innovations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement standards for robotic design, applications, and testing.
- Conduct research, design, and develop robotic applications to enhance vehicle manufacturing processes.
- Support robotic software and hardware updates to align with industry standards.
- Lead technical innovation projects, solution testing, and task validation.
- Document specifications using EWOs, MPIs, Kaizens, and FIS reports.
- Monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring goals are met.
- Oversee robotic system troubleshooting and plant support during downtime events.
- Act as the technical liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and plant operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Process Engineering, or a related field (or HSD with 5 years in a relevant role).
- 5 years of experience in industrial robotics applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, SQL).
- Experience with robot programming (Fanuc, Comau, Cobot) and PLC programming.
- Strong problem-solving skills related to robot simulations, peripheral interfacing, and applications engineering.
- Background in robotic technology leadership, such as First Robotics Program.
- Ability to analyze and compile benchmark data for process improvements.
- Self-motivated, innovative thinker with excellent organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
