Tests and modifies general systems-level software / hardware, specialized utility and / or hardware. Interprets wireless specifications. Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Documents systems-level defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to developers. Identifies, analyzes, troubleshoots, and documents problems with program function, output, or content. Develops testing programs that assess effectiveness of a new system or modification of an existing system.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2 years Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
Ideal Candidate will have :
5 years Software Engineering or related work experience.
2 years experience with Programming Language such as C, C , Java, Python, etc.
3 years experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans, and tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Linux understanding. Candidate should show a good understanding on scripting on those platforms. Python experience required.
Capable of creating basic apps, reading understanding and troubleshooting basic code.
Understanding of QXDM, ADB, and / or other logging and troubleshooting tools is a must.
Willing to travel and weekend work.
Good communication skills for customer interactions and or demo and tradeshow support.
Experience in customer interaction for support, demo and trial.
Software and hardware troubleshooting. Able to come up to speed on new hardware and application platforms (Sensor and Tools).
Background in RF technologies, test and troubleshooting. WIFI, 3G and LTE. IP network understanding preferred.
Expertise in wireless and wireline sensors (setup and installation) is preferred.
Understanding of autonomous vehicle setup a plus.
Self-driven with sense of urgency and responsibility.
Level of Responsibility :
The candidate will be working as part of the Avante Fleet team. Supporting all autonomous vehicle integration and bring up related activities. Focus on understanding all the system architecture and sensor integration of our test fleet. Install and troubleshoot of release s / w. Integrating and working with sensors like Lidar, Radar, Cameras, GPS and others.
Understanding Linux PC system setup and configuration. IP network setup and management.
Candidate will have to work with the software development team, the hardware team, Drive test team, infrastructure team, calibration team and any subsystem team to test and troubleshoot issues.
Candidate is expected to drive and work with other groups or teams to work out solutions or implement required changes. A big part is managing and supporting calibration activities and data collection activities. The team works closely with all parts of the organization for demos and trials as well.
The candidate should be open and able to drive a car / vehicle. Driver's license should be in good standing. Support and travel for trade shows or weekend testing is expected.
Besides the commissioning of the vehicle the candidate should have some basic general mechanical understanding.
