Job Title: Manufacturing Material Handler

Basic Job Functions:
Altenloh, Brinck & Co. US, Inc. manufactures and distributes engineered fasteners under the SPAX® brand for the construction market, TRUFAST® for the commercial roofing industry and TRUFAST Walls® for exterior building envelopes and facades. The material Handler is responsible for unloading wire trucks and organizing the wire according to wire size and wire heat working with our Kanban system. The material Handler will also be responsible for helping in the MFG department with loading machines with wire, dumping scrap and organizing tubs when wire trucks are not available to be unloaded.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Unload wire trucks/ Load wire trucks with empty high hats: Unload wire trucks as they come in and organize wire by size and heat working with our Kanban system. Reload wire trucks with empty high hats as needed.
- Stage wire needed for next coil/part as needed at each machine: Have coils prepared for operators in the event a coil runs out or a part changeover is made requiring a new coil of material.
- Load replacement wire coils: Work with operators to ensure forklift is available and if needed load next coil needed on turntable to minimize machine downtime for a coil change.
- Move tubs of reported quantities: Move tubs from machine location to stage location as parts are completed by operators. If needed, complete weigh count on completed parts.
- Organize conventional tubs: ensure tubs are being organized properly in the WIP area from heading going to threading.
- Tag/move suspect or rejected parts for quality: At the direction of quality personnel move/scrap materials as needed.
- Assist operators on machine area cleanliness: Work with operators continuously to keep all areas clean from debris and mopped as needed. Sweep and mop all common areas at least daily and as needed.
- Maintain forklift records and battery condition: Complete required forklift checks, plug in batteries for quick charge, and initiate battery equalization as needed to maintain proper conditioning.
- Empty large scrap hoppers and staged bins: Throughout the shift take large containment bins to outdoor scrap hoppers, ensuring that at or near the end of shift these are empty.
- Communicate with following shift: Notify material handler for next shift of status on each operational item to maximize machine uptime (i.e., review next coils to load, tubs to move, scrap to empty etc.)
Salary : $3 - $27
