What You Will Do
As an Engineering Manager for Altera Package Design team, the successful candidate would be responsible for leading and managing a group of highly skilled and experienced Package Design Engineers and Electrical Verification Engineer.
This global leader should be willing to perform a typical people management role, meeting direct report needs as well as lead the Design Team into the next level of efficiency, agility and velocity without comprising quality goals (best in class design methodology and practices). Additionally, you will be expected to cultivate and reinforce division and group values, norms and behaviors, be willing to quickly identify and analyze problems and formulate plans/strategies to address them and provide guidance/coaching in areas of employee development, performance, productivity, and culture.
The candidate will be co-leading the above efforts with other peer managers in the organization and representing the org with other peer groups within Altera, role modeling inclusionary leadership while motivating and empowering a high performing team.
Additionally, they will work closely with Package Architects/WG leads/PM/Assembly engineer to forecast and plan for resource scheduling requirements and various project level tactical decisions pertaining to Altera packaging roadmap.
Salary Range
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications
What We Want to See
We Are Seeking Someone With 10 Years Of Experience And a BS/MS In EE, ME, CE, CS Or Related Fields With Experience In One Or More Of The Following
- Managing or leading product design teams of a medium size (10-20)
- Packaging or Board design development and equivalent package design tools
- Experience in developing design flows and tracking design efficiency metrics
- Experience in handling global resource planning and allocation
- Experience in Semiconductor Packaging Substrate technology design and development
- Experience in Package design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence and/or Auto CAD
