The Records Specialist – Indexing will monitor patient records for all documentation required by CMS. The Records Specialist submits all paper documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR). Functions of this role performed timely and accurately, affect patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The Records Specialist complies with all legal, Medicare & private insurance and company rules and regulations.
Hourly Rate: $16/hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15am - 5:00pm EST
In-office presence is required at our corporate office in Kettering, OH. After 6 months you will become eligible to switch to a Hybrid Model.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies and processes returned physician’s orders, returned face to face documentation, referrals into the EMR, paper visits into the EMR and any additional or miscellaneous paperwork into the EMR
Maintains the physician database for current licensed
Assist clients, their families and co-workers in understanding records procedures and order tracking
Prioritize indexing outstanding documents to keep write-offs to a minimum
Prioritize indexing incoming referrals to assist in access to care
Understands and practices agency policies and procedures
Assist in survey preparation by retrieving requested documentation
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
High School graduate with Associates degree or equivalent experience required. Health care experience is desired
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Adobe.
Experience working with World View and e-fax systems is desired. Experience working with computers is required.
Detail oriented and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
