Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
WHO WE ARE
We are a damage recovery expert (not an insurance agency) negotiating the recovery of insurance claims on behalf of business clients in a variety of industries including rentals, loaner cars, construction, emergency response, transportation firms, municipalities, and specialty vehicles.

This is a very unique role specific to our industry. As someone with the right experience to succeed in this position, you may have experience with claims handling, subrogation, settlement negotiation, automotive appraising, automotive estimating, service writing, or insurance adjusting. You are a professional with a positive and friendly attitude, the ability to remain calm when speaking over the phone and are passionate about using your negotiation skills to help clients. You are well organized and detailed oriented, have persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems. You have the ability to work independently, prioritizing responsibilities, and managing your time accordingly. You have effective negotiating skills, great verbal, and written communication skills and active listening skills. You have the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the guidance of the Damage Recovery Manager, you will be responsible for settling and collecting money owed to clients by customers, insurance carriers and other liable parties while working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. You will deliver service that is fast and fair, to ensure client retention while verifying coverage, investigating liability, reviewing, and determining damages, and negotiating and settling claims via phone and written correspondence.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
- Recover claims through direct contact with the responsible party or parties while obtaining recovery goals as set forth in performance objectives
- Review and evaluate new damage recovery transfers, determining the most effective recovery method
- Review facts of liability, collection potential
- Negotiate settlements within established lines of authority
- Refer appropriate files to approved collection agencies
- Document clearly and concisely all relevant activity on all files and make recommendations for additional activity as appropriate
- Communicate and escalate claims with high degree of difficulty to direct supervisor
- Conduct ongoing open communication with clients regarding claims status and prepare and present occasional status reports to client as needed
- Maintain established damage recovery records
- Maintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers by returning phone calls and acknowledging correspondence in an appropriate timeframe
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following minimum qualifications/skills & experience:
- All-lines License adjuster license is highly preferred
- Experience in claims handling, subrogation, settlement negotiation, automotive appraising, automotive estimating, service writing, or insurance adjusting
- Ability to process claims in a manner consistent with State and Federal regulations as well as company procedures and policies
- Experience in Salesforce is preferred but not required
- Effective negotiating skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- General administrative skills, computer proficiency and basic math
- Ability to effectively manage own time and coordinate various tasks simultaneously
- Active listening skills
- Be well organized and detailed oriented
- Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems
- Demonstrate professionalism and have a positive and friendly attitude
