Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing Psychiatric services across the Agency. The Medical Director will work alongside the Outpatient Director(s) to ensure that Outpatient services operate smoothly. The Medical Director will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care, setting strategic direction, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Educational Requirements:

The Medical Director will work alongside the Outpatient Director(s) to ensure that Outpatient services operate smoothly. The Medical Director will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care, setting strategic direction, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Approve Provider notes weekly and ensure that they meet billing guidelines.
- Assist in staff evaluations and provide feedback to providers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Outpatient policies and procedures.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of Psychiatric staff.
- Attend training and conferences, as approved.
- Comply with the Managed Care Organization (MCO) and ACRP policies and procedures including, HIPAA, Patients' Rights and Responsibilities, Best Practices, and other policies established by ACRP.
- Contact and coordinate with crisis when needed.
- Coordinate with other Program Directors and staff to ensure integrated care.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State Regulations.
- Implement approved referrals.
- Maintain a personal caseload and meet the required weekly billable requirement.
- Oversee continuing education for providers and ensure provider compliance is met.
- Oversee patient care and ensure the highest standards of medical practice are met.
- Participate in clinical team meetings and provide oversight to the Psychiatric staff.
- Participate in decisions regarding daily operations.
- Prescribe and maintain treatment for clients.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Outpatient Medication Management Department.
- Provide oversight to Medical Staff (DNPs, CRNPs, RNs, etc.) and provide support to Medical Staff regarding questions about patient care.
Educational Requirements:
- Possess a Medical Degree (MD or DO) and board certification in Psychiatry.
- Possess a valid license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Possess an active DEA number.
- Must have a minimum of five years' experience in a supervisory role overseeing a team of medical personnel in a psychiatric outpatient setting (preferred).
- Ability to work in a team and complete assigned tasks.
- Analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics.
- Knowledge of and the ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code.
- Proficient knowledge of Outpatient governing regulation requirements.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at times with or without assistance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.
- Act 31/Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training.
