Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 9am - 5pm OR 8am - 4pm
POSITION STATEMENT:
This position is responsible for submitting and processing all psychiatric evaluations and medication management notes as scheduled and in collaboration with the psychiatrists. The Psychiatric Assistant will assist in processing and following up on billing and insurance claims, tracking, researching, correcting and resubmitting rejected/denied claims. This role assists in providing patient related services in collaboration with clinicians and other providers by preparing charts for appointments, reviewing record requests, processing requests, rooming patients and dictating visitations.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
Supports the providers by completing all notes by end of business day
Manages prior authorizations related to insurance denials of medications
Manages all lab requests per provider orders
Processes requests for patient information according to policies and procedures, including record copy service and form tracking
Calls pharmacies when necessary to verify prescriptions of follow-up to appointments
Assists clients in completing initial paperwork if necessary
Maintains updated forms in client files including yearly release of information for PCP and other physicians for coordination of care
Responsible for scheduling clients and maintaining provider schedule
Takes height, weight, and blood pressure during evaluations and per request of provider
Maintains information sharing with the therapist to provide continuity of care
Prepares all charts for upcoming med appointments and reviews record requests
Assists in maintaining and completing Social Security Record Requests or Medical Record requests
Takes appropriate messages and forwards to staff in a timely manner related to scheduling or medication requests
Completes files and returns all documentation distributed by the office management
Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication
Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material
Attends all required and scheduled trainings and meetings for Outpatient program
Maintains workflow by studying methods; implementing cost reductions; and developing reporting procedures
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
Responsible for light housekeeping duties
CROSS-TRAINING as requested for cross-coverages during absences:
Program Services, Special Projects as assigned by Director
Visitors: provides, performs, supervises and/or assists all people entering: consumers, employees, and guests and announces their arrivals to the appropriate party
Front Desk support: conducts clerical duties, including filing, answering phone calls, responding to emails and preparing documents; provides customer service by answering all incoming and outgoing phone calls when office Administrator is unavailable
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects
Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to prioritize
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) to Five (5) years experience in relevant field
Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
EDUCATION
Minimum of High School Diploma
Preferred: Associates Degree
