What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Chaplain/Spiritual Counselor position at Alternative Hospice?
Education:
Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
Certificate or degree in pastoral ministry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to individuals and families in various settings, such as homes or nursing facilities.
- Conduct religious services, including worship, prayer, and sacraments.
- Offer counseling to individuals facing emotional or spiritual challenges.
- Mentor and provide guidance to individuals seeking personal growth and development.
- Provide bereavement support to individuals and families experiencing loss.
- Assist with conflict management and resolution within the community or organization.
- Offer crisis intervention and support during times of emergency or trauma.
- Write and deliver sermons, devotions, and other religious teachings.
- Provide leadership in organizing and coordinating religious activities and events.
- Educate individuals on religious beliefs, practices, and traditions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care is preferred.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques and principles.
- Ability to provide bereavement support to individuals experiencing loss.
- Strong conflict management skills to address conflicts within the community or organization.
- Crisis intervention skills to provide immediate support during emergencies or traumatic events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for delivering sermons and teachings.
- Leadership abilities to organize and coordinate religious activities.
- Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus.
Job Types: Part-time, PRN
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
