Sioux Falls Food Coop is a consumer-owned cooperative business that is managed by the people who shop with us. We pride ourselves on being the best place in Sioux Falls to find local produce and products. Currently, we looking for a Produce Manager to join our team!
Essential Responsibilities and Functions
- Maintain a positive and consistent presence on the sales floor to ensure shoppers are greeted properly and enjoy a welcoming and friendly experience at the store.
- Trains and instructs all employees of the co-op about the daily functions, product mix, sale items and needs of the produce department so that all stakeholders in the store are able to understand and speak to shoppers about the produce selections.
- Maintain a team of produce clerks that are highly skilled and motived to run the produce department efficiently.
- Learn each department of the store to successfully work person-in-charge shifts in coordination with the other department leads.
- Utilize proper methods of purchasing, pricing and setting stock levels of produce products to ensure department meets product, sales, margin and labor goals at all times.
- Hire and maintain a team of produce clerks that are friendly to customers, work hard and interact well with all departments of the store, keep the produce department looking amazing and greet everyone that enters the store with a warm and helpful attitude.
- Plan and execute all promotional programs, build beautiful displays, coordinate cross-promotions with other departments and maintain accurate pricing on the shelf and in the point-of-sale.
- Model great customer service, treat people well, dress like a leader, uphold SFFC policies and let your co-workers know when they do a great job.
Qualifications
- Experience successfully leading people.
- Time spent in a retail, restaurant, or similar customer service job.
- Love for good food.
- The humility to accept direction and a sense of ambition for the success of the co-op.
Compensation
Salary of $49,000 per year.
