What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Alternative HR LLC?
In your role as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:
To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications and\or experience:
- Coordinate all accounting functions and programs.
- Perform month-end close and prepare month-end financial statements including, but not limited to: balance sheet, P&L, cash flow statement, and EBITDA summary.
- Communicate all changes until final statements are prepared and communicated.
- Analyze month-end financial statements to identify actionable opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Proactively communicate findings to General Manager and President.
- Schedule a monthly meeting to review financial statements with General Manager, President and others.
- Prepare and communicate revenue and P&L projections and forecasts.
- Manage Accounting support employees.
- Perform\oversee customer billing\invoicing.
- Manage truck registrations and licensing.
- Interact with Operations regularly to allow for better understanding of EOM financial results.
- Reconcile all bank accounts and credit cards.
- Supply outside accounting firm with all documents and information needed for them to complete year end taxes.
- Perform weekly payroll processing.
- Backup maintenance of HR personnel files.
- Support \ Manage of Miscellaneous HR related functions:
- Lead annual open enrollment process for benefits and insurance renewals.
- Backup coordinator of workers compensation injury reporting and insurance reporting.
- Understand and backup maintenance of OSHA log
- Assist in maintenance of time and attendance records.
- File and pay relevant monthly, quarterly and annual taxes.
- Complete nightly IT backup processes.
- AP and AR processing.
- Maintain fixed asset inventory with outside accounting firm.
To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications and\or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 2 years of accounting experience in a transportation accounting preferred, but not required..
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, resulting in a neat and orderly workspace.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to train and manage a staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- MS Office experience must be Intermediate level or above.
