Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medicaid Biller to join our long term healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing regulations to ensure compliance and efficiency in the billing cycle.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit Idaho & Washington Medicaid billing claims to insurance companies and clients.
- Review clients records for accuracy and completeness prior to billing.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for accurate claim submissions.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines and other relevant regulations.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and clients regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical office procedures, terminology, and coding practices.
- Generate reports on billing activities and accounts receivable status.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with familiarity in medical collections in both Idaho & Washington, as well as Veteran Administration billings.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and DRG methodologies.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Certification in medical billing or coding is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is an advantage.
