What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Group Leader position at Alternative Nursing Services?
ANS is seeking Adult Day Health and Group Leaders. In this position, you will be working with 3-5 developmentally disabled individuals, in the community. Our goal is to help these individuals become more independent and comfortable in social settings, while also learning the appropriate ways to handle difficult situations, being a part of a group, and making good decisions, in accordance with the individuals service plan. This is currently a part time position but could transition into full time.

Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High School graduate, G.E.D or actively seeking &
obtained with-in one year of hire.
3. Evidence of a clear criminal history with a completed
criminal background check.
4. First Aid & C.P.R. to be completed in office before beginning work.
5. Have the ability to ability to lift, push, and pull weight up to
50lbs and to communicate, read and write in English.
6. Capacity to successfully complete additional training or
certifications as mandated by state and licensing regulations.
7. VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, PERSONAL VEHICLE AND MINIMUM LIABILITY INSURANCE ARE A MUST
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides participants at the direction of a service plan
developed by the agency program supervisor or a registered
nurse.
2. Provides participants services in compliance with the
certification or training that supports ones knowledge.
3. Performs routine duties as related to a safe and comfortable
environment.
4. Performs routine and therapeutic programs.
5. Provide medication reminders only or medication assistance
only if trained in an approved program and as delegated by a
nurse.
6. May assist the participants with personal ADL’s tasks.
7. May perform RN delegated functions within the scope of
State Certification and/or approved training.
8. Documents services on agency forms as indicated and
submits records as directed to agency office.
9. Notifies the program supervisor or the nurse supervisor
when there is a change in the participant’s services or
environment.
10. Ability to respond to emergencies without direct supervision.
11. Attends in-service training & mandatory monthly meetings
as warranted/directed.
12. May perform other agency job functions as directed by
agency supervisory staff
