Position Location: Greater Lowell Area-Tewksbury, Lowell, Tyngsboro, and Chelmsford.
The Director of Residential Supports is responsible for the oversight of 3-4 residential programs for adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. The Director of Residential Support provides direct oversight to the Support Coordinators to ensure the operational, financial, and administrative operations of each residential program site within their cluster. In addition, provide supervision, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure person-centered programming for individuals served.
Duties and Responsibilities (These duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive):
- Works with the Director of Health Services, Director of Behavior Services and all other ASI Team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in and Attend Human Rights Committee Meetings and Positive Behavioral Supports Committee Meetings Quarterly as needed.
- Obtain and Maintain Medication Administration Program (MAP) and site supervisor certification. Responsible for conducting monthly medicaiton audits within the program site cluster, and provide guidance and training to employees as the MAP site supervisor under the direction of the Director of Health Services.
- Ensure that Supports Coordinators, Assistant Supports Coordinators, and Direct Care Professionals/Staff complete all assigned duties, and that all documentation is completed appropriate and timely.
- Consistently monitors job performance of direct reports with close attention given to medications, appointments, documentation, and fiscal oversight.
- Ensure that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Human Rights policies.
- Ensures constructive and collaborative communication with DDS Area offices, community resources, families / guardians, and other provider agencies.
- Oversee external reporting within residential services; this includes but is not limited to oversight of incident reporting with HCSIS within required time frames.
- Responsible for conducting monthly financial audits within the program site cluster.
- Adhere to the agency’s mission, policies, and procedures.
- Intervene in crisis situations as needed.
- Facilitate monthly residential Support Coordinator Meetings.
- Work closely with other department team members to ensure successful DDS Office of Quality Enhancement surveys, licensing, and other quality assurance requirements.
- Responsible for being a part of Administratior on Duty rotation providing emergency on-call support outside of normal business hours to program sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health/human service-related field and 1 year of experience in the human services field, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role. In lieu of a degree, 8 or more relevant experience may suffice, with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. Master’s Degree in a Health/Human Service-related field is strongly preferred.
- Possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Must possess a current Medication Administration Program (MAP) certificate or pass the Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification program within 3 months from date of hire. (ASI will provide training).
- Must possess a current Medication Administration Program (MAP) site supervisor certificate or pass the Medication Administration Program (MAP) Site Supervisor certification program within 3 months from hire date. (ASI will provide training).
- Must obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid (FA) certification. (ASI will provide training)
- Must possess fiscal management abilities.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to teach and inspire teamwork and cooperation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Extensive knowledge of Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, problem-solving and communications skills.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals served.
- Clearance through state-mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
Sign-on Bonuses:
$500.00 Sign-on Bonus will be provided after 90-Days of employment.
