The Corporate Partnership and Events Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing relationships among corporate and institutional partners, with a dual focus on sponsorship acquisition and stewardship. This critical role will lead the planning and execution of AFG's "Role Model Celebration," our signature event each spring, our holiday gift drive, "Project Giving Tree," which provides holiday gifts to families in need, as well as other important events throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy to grow sponsorships and partnerships that align with AFG’s mission and program goals.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners through targeted outreach, relationship management, and compelling partnership proposals.
- Collaborate with department members to develop necessary materials.
- Attend events to meet and engage new prospective supporters, organize “lunch and learns,” maintain an active pipeline of corporate prospects, and coordinate with the Database Manager to track all activities and outcomes in the donor database.
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of AFG’s annual events both big and small throughout the year, including venue and vendor management, guest experience, logistics, and program development in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee event budgets, timelines, and risk management; evaluate event outcomes and implement improvements based on feedback and metrics.
- Provide administrative support for development activities as needed, including database updates, donor acknowledgments, and meeting preparation.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate relations, community engagement, and/or event planning, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated success securing and stewarding corporate sponsorships or partnerships.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events or donor meetings.
- Strategic thinker with a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proficiency in donor databases (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Culturally competent and aligned with AFG’s values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment for women and girls.
