The Grant Accountant supports AFG’s mission and performs the accounting and finance functions for AFG programs funded by grants or special revenue.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain complex tracking systems to manage diverse grant programs. Reconcile grant financial records and prepare month-end reports for finance and grantors.
- Set-up new grants, manage and closeout existing grants, and verify grant expenditures and budget overruns. Maintain all grant report information in the accounting system.
- Compile, track and review all monthly grant expenditures for compliance with grant contracts; and produce monthly report summaries.
- Work with program staff to manage the process of requesting, receiving, and paying-out grant funds, while maintaining compliance with grant agreements and contracts.
- Prepare and audit invoices in compliance with grant agreements, verify eligibility of costs and track scope and budget changes. Regularly monitor actual grant expenditures against budgets.
- Prepare, analyze and issue accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and final reports as required by grantors.
