Starting wage: $27.00-$32.00/hour, Dependent upon licensure and experience level. Applicants with candidate licensure may be considered at reduced rate of pay.
Alternatives will oversee candidate licensure hours*
Job type: Full-time, Non-exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday; This position may require flexibility, with some evenings.
Training: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff.
You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for taking on your role.
This first week is 9am-5pm at our Alternatives Training Center.
Continual on-going training is provided to all our staff to keep them current on their roles, industry standards, and contractual compliance.

Skills/Requirements:
- Master’s degree in human services or related field.
- Two years’ experience in counseling field, preferred.
- Must have valid licensure to practice in state of Montana.
- Must be able to pass federal workplace drug screening and background check.
- Must hold valid driver’s license.
Learn about the Compass Team:
The Compass program of Alternatives, Inc. is an outpatient treatment program that was established in 2018 to expand our client services. Compass programming includes Substance Abuse Disorder and Mental Health treatment, Partner Family Member Assault programming, Anger Management, Criminal Thinking Error groups, and the ACT/Prime for Life program.
The team is led by an experienced Clinical Director who has been with the Agency for over 5 years and has vast experience in treatment and social services.
She oversees the Compass team comprised of, LACs, LCPCs, and Treatment Coordinators.

What will you do in this position?
Regular job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide individual and group therapy for chemical dependency and mental health services.
- Develop and update individualized mental health treatment plans.
- Conduct mental health assessments and make necessary referrals.
- Document all client interactions and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with staff and attend weekly meetings.
- Assess and manage risk, including completing PREA and Suicide Risk screens.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and adapt to new duties as needed.
