PTO

• Accrual: Start accruing PTO from your first paycheck. Full-time (40-hour) employees with 0-2 years of employment accrue 4.65 hours per pay period, totaling 15 days a year.
• Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25 years.
• Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.

Paid Holidays

Starting Wage

• Salary: The starting salary for this position is $18.00-$20.00/hour, DOE

Schedule

• Standard Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

Training

• Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to Pass Federal Workplace Drug Test
• Ability to Pass Background Check
• Valid Driver’s License and Insurability

To excel as a Resident Accounting Assistant, you'll need a combination of experience and skills:

• Experience: At least 2 years in a related field such as banking, accounting, accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP), or a similar area.
• Math Skills: Strong mathematical abilities to handle financial transactions and reconciliations accurately.
• Writing Skills: Proficiency in writing to prepare clear and accurate documentation.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks.
• Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of clients and team members.

About the Team:

Join our dynamic Accounting team, led by an experienced Financial Controller that has been with the Agency for 5 years. You'll collaborate with a dedicated group of account assistants, an Accounting Manager, and an Accounts Payable Specialist. Together, they ensure the security, accuracy, and integrity of all resident and client accounts. If you're ready to contribute to a cohesive and collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

Key responsibilities and regular tasks:

• Collection and Receipt of Fees: Handling the collection and proper recording of fees from residents.
• Reconciliation: Ensuring that all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.
• Accurate Paperwork for Deposits: Preparing and maintaining accurate records for all deposits.
• Providing Excellent Customer Service: Assisting residents and clients with their accounting-related inquiries and concerns.
• Communication with Team Members: Collaborating with other team members to address outstanding resident debts or other account-related issues.
• Monitoring Daily Banking Activities: Keeping track of daily banking transactions to ensure everything is in order.
