Starting Wage
- Salary: The starting salary for this position is $25.00-$30.00/hour, DOE.

Schedule
- Ability to be flexible and available for all shifts as needs of Agency arise and change – specific schedule will be discussed upon offer.
Training
- Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.
- Training: Alternatives offers fully paid training, including a 1-week training period to follow your orientation week, also scheduled 9am-5pm with a specialized HR trainer, before moving into your new role/schedule.
To be a successful Security Response Lead (SRO-L), you will need the following minimum qualifications and experience/skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Experience in security, corrections, or law-enforcement
- Valid Montana Driver’s license and Agency Insurability
- Ability to pass Federal workplace drug test
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks
- Must have good writing and communication skills, including basic computer skills and MS Office knowledge.
The SRO-L carries a mix of operational, administrative, and strategic skills and responsibilities to ensure a secure and rehabilitative environment. SRO Lead means balancing the discipline or correctional security with empathy and understanding required in rehabilitation settings. This dynamic role demands proactive leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement in both security protocols and staff development.
The SRO-L shall also assist Client Advisors (CA) with routine security and accountability procedures at the discretion of the Operations Supervisor.
The SRO-Lead must have excellent leadership skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
This candidate must be great under-pressure, with an ability to respond in a timely manner to emergencies and make quick, decisive decisions when needed.
About the Team
The Operations Supervisor at Passages has over 15 years of experience with the Agency and more than 30 years in corrections. She began her career as a Client Advisor and has worked diligently to build the successful Operations team at Passages.
The Client Advisor/Operations Department includes Security Response Officers (SROs), Client Advisor Supervisors, Client Advisor In-Charges, and various other Client Advisors and security staff. Together, they ensure smooth operations and maintain a safe environment for both residents and staff.
What Will You Do in This Position?
- Oversee daily performance of security response staff
- Mentor new hires and provide ongoing training
- Evaluate staff performance periodically
- Ensure adherence to policies and contract standards
- Respond to critical situations and manage real-time decision-making
- Maintain internal and external security
- Facilitate communication between security teams, facility management, and treatment/case managers
- Investigate and document all incidents thoroughly
- Prepare for audits and inspections
- Assist Client Advisors with security procedures
- Be available for rotating shifts, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
