Job Overview:
As an HR Manager at Altitude Aerospace USA, you will play a critical role in overseeing and executing recruitment, onboarding, and resource management strategies to ensure that the firm attracts and retains the best talent in the aerospace engineering sector. You will be responsible for sourcing engineers, technical specialists, and support staff, managing the full recruitment lifecycle, and ensuring that our teams are efficiently utilized, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to meet the firm's needs for skilled aerospace engineers, designers, technicians, and support staff.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions for new roles.
- Manage the recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews, reference checks, and hiring decisions.
- Utilize various recruiting channels, including online job boards, social media, networking, and industry-specific events, to attract qualified candidates.
- Manage relationships with our customers for staffing contracts on specific projects.
- Ensure diversity and inclusion goals are met through the recruitment process.
Onboarding & Employee Integration:
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
- Develop and maintain training materials, orientation sessions, and other resources to help new employees integrate quickly and effectively into the company's culture.
- Coordinate with managers to ensure new hires are adequately prepared for their roles and have the resources necessary for success.
Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage internal resource allocation, ensuring that teams are properly staffed for current and upcoming projects.
- Work with project managers to forecast resource needs and make adjustments as necessary.
- Track and report on resource utilization metrics to ensure efficient project delivery and optimize employee workload.
- Implement and manage a resource management system to ensure effective tracking of internal skills, availability, and performance.
Employee Relations & Retention:
- Act as a key point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, and career development.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Work closely with leadership to identify and implement strategies to retain high-performing talent and support career growth within the organization.
- Develop and execute employee engagement surveys and initiatives to maintain a motivated and satisfied workforce.
Compliance & HR Policies:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations, especially related to the aerospace and engineering sectors.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Handle employee grievances and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
Performance Management:
- Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.
- Work with department heads to ensure that employees have clear objectives, career development plans, and opportunities for advancement.
- Identify skills gaps and recommend training programs to enhance employee development and performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in HR management, with a focus on recruiting and resource management.
- Previous experience in the aerospace, engineering, or highly technical industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in successfully recruiting engineers and technical personnel.
- Experience managing resource allocation for large-scale projects.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and recruitment best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, hiring managers, and employees at all levels.
