Plant Health Care Manager - Altitude Arborist

As a plant health care manager, you will be an integral part of the leadership team at Altitude Arborist. Your days will be spent, not only managing and training PHC technicians, scheduling treatments and communicating with clients in the office, but also outdoors ensuring proper application and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. The plant health care manager is a leadership role at Altitude Arborist. You will work with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for growth of the plant health care division and the company.

THE BASICS

  • Salary: $52,000 - $83,000/year, DOE (higher range of pay is for those with all or most of the desired qualifications and significant experience)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Manage all plant-health-care proposals and scheduling through SingleOps software
  • Schedule and route all plant health care services
  • Manage PHC technicians through hiring, evaluations and disciplinary actions within Altitude Arborist’s framework
  • Train and supervise PHC technicians in safe and proper handling, mixing and application of products
  • Train and supervise PHC technicians in proper equipment use and maintenance
  • Perform/oversee plant health care treatments including spray applications, deep root injections, trunk injections, etc.
  • Perform/oversee daily inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure PHC trucks and equipment are prepared, filled, and refueled for each workday
  • Track, order and insure proper, safe storage of PHC inventory
  • Insure proper storage and maintenance of PHC equipment
  • Maintain proper records and insure compliance with current pesticide regulations
  • Insuring compliance with Pesticide Sensitive Registry
  • Provide in-house PHC trainings for all staff for cross training and continued knowledge of all staff
  • Regularly meet with the leadership team to strategize for the growth of the PHC program and the company as a whole.
  • Track performance and progress toward goals and help analyze potential areas of improvement and growth
  • Some sales and client communication may be required. The majority of sales are performed by our client consultants.
  • Occasionally assist in the field with the trim crew

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

  • You will perform consultations and services for a wide variety of clients in diverse locations from private gardens and backyards, to public spaces.
  • A portion of work time is spent in the field operating machinery or hand tools, performing PHC/arboricultural services, clean-up, and being courteous to clients.
  • A portion of your time will be spent indoors to coordinate with clients, complete paperwork, and attend meetings and trainings.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE (Required)

  • Qualified Supervisor with Colorado Department of Agriculture
  • ISA Certified Arborist or Journeyworker Arborist
  • At least 1 year of PHC manager or similar experience
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, safety mindset, reliability, personal integrity, and desire to grow personally and professionally
  • Valid driver’s license with a history of responsible driving
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outside at all times in all weather conditions are required. Duty modifications may be made during specific seasons throughout the year.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS WE’D LOVE YOU TO HAVE (not required)

  • Experience with chainsaws, stump-grinders and chippers
  • Mechanically inclined
  • CDL

We work five days a week. We are family oriented, so we do not schedule work on weekends with rare exceptions.
