Position: Customs Entry Writer
Location: Miami, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
A growing mid-sized freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join its Miami-based operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is confident handling import shipments from A to Z and has a strong understanding of both U.S. Customs procedures and freight forwarding operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs entries for air and ocean import shipments
- Review commercial documents for accuracy and compliance with CBP regulations
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and government agencies
- Track and trace shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and final delivery
- Communicate directly with clients to request missing documentation or clarify entry details
- File ISF and support additional compliance filings as needed
- Maintain accurate records and stay up to date with changes in customs regulations
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth cargo flow and documentation
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in customs brokerage and freight forwarding
- Familiarity with import processes and documentation from A to Z
- Proficient in entry filing systems (e.g., ACE, ABI platforms)
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification and customs regulations
- Experience working with air and ocean freight
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for client and internal coordination
Preferred:
- Experience using systems such as CargoWise or similar
- Knowledge of PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
