About the Role:
A growing logistics and supply chain company is seeking an experienced Import Specialist to manage shipments from start to finish. The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. While 5 years of experience is preferred, we welcome motivated candidates eager to develop their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the entire import process, from booking to delivery.
- Manage shipment documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Ensure compliance with all import regulations and procedures.
- Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure seamless shipment handling.
- Track and monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to optimize costs.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Experience in logistics or freight forwarding (5 years preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of import regulations, customs processes, and shipping documentation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and service providers effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with logistics software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
