The Industrial Carpenter/Scaffold Builder will construct, assemble, and maintain temporary and permanent structures used in the chemical manufacturing plant. This role combines general carpentry tasks with scaffold building and installation, ensuring structures are safe, secure, and compliant with industry and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct, repair, and maintain wooden and metal structures.
- Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding systems for elevated work areas.
- Inspect scaffolding and other structures for safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and construction teams to plan scaffold layouts.
- Evaluate load-bearing capacity and stability of scaffolding.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for accurate construction.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety protocols while performing tasks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; industrial carpentry certification a plus.
- Proven experience as an industrial carpenter/scaffold builder in a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of structural integrity, load-bearing, and construction safety standards.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for carpentry and scaffold assembly.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, particularly those related to working at heights.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working at heights while maintaining safety precautions.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
