Job Description
As the Community Manager & Wellness Center Lead, you'll be the friendly face that residents, members, and guests turn to for assistance and support. This role combines your passion for community-building with your ability to manage day-to-day property operations and wellness center activities.
You'll work to ensure the property is running smoothly, maintaining a welcoming and positive atmosphere, and ensuring that both residents and non-residents enjoy the full benefits of our wellness center. This is a dynamic role that blends property management expertise with a love for wellness, events, and helping others feel at home.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Management & Resident Relations:
- Act as the main point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries, requests, and concerns in a warm and approachable manner.
- Build strong relationships with residents by creating a friendly, inclusive community atmosphere through social events, newsletters, and regular communication.
- Manage resident move-ins and move-outs, ensuring smooth transitions and a positive experience.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with vendors and contractors, ensuring the property is always in excellent condition.
- Administer and maintain leases of apartment units on Yardi, including following up with residents on late rent payments
- Oversee all events in the building and ensure safety, consistency, and transparent communication occurs
- Maintain ongoing communication with all members (residents and non-residents)
- Coordinate with Maintenance staff to respond to all maintenance and repair needs, 24/7
- Reports directly to the Regional Manager and / or Owner, and may have a staff of Leasing Consultants and Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technicians reporting directly to them
- Shop competition every quarter, maintaining familiarity with the local market
- Build, supervise, and lead staff, including performance management and reviews
- Work with Human Resources for recruiting and staffing, including approval of offer letters, completion of background checks and drug screens through third party, and partnering on performance issues
- Prepare for and manage all City-required inspections
Member Management:
- Oversee the operation and tenants of the wellness center, including the yoga studio, spa, and fitness center.
- Manage memberships for both residents and non-residents, ensuring all memberships are processed and updated in a timely manner, and ensuring that membership dues are paid timely
- Ensure that non-resident hours (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM) are upheld, coordinating staff coverage and guest services during those hours.
- Coordinate with the providers of events and activities in the wellness spaces, such as fitness classes, workshops, wellness seminars, and special events.
- Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere in the wellness center, ensuring that all members and visitors feel welcome, relaxed, and supported.
Community Engagement:
- Develop and host events to promote community engagement and interaction among residents, such as social hours, fitness challenges, and wellness workshops.
- Periodically survey residents and non-resident members to understand their wellness needs and preferences, ensuring the wellness center meets those needs.
- Promote a culture of health and wellness throughout the building, encouraging participation in wellness programs and offering guidance to those interested.
Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of resident and member information, including memberships, event registrations, and wellness center usage.
- Monitor wellness center budgets and expenses and assist with planning and implementing new initiatives.
- Track and report on resident satisfaction and wellness center engagement to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Personality: You are a naturally approachable and caring individual who genuinely enjoys helping people and building a sense of community.
- Experience: Previous experience in property management required; hospitality or wellness center management is a plus
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Wellness Knowledge: A passion for wellness and fitness, with basic knowledge of wellness services such as yoga, fitness, and spa treatments
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for creating connections with people from all walks of life.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with property management software, membership databases, and general office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate events, resident needs, and wellness center hours.
