Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Manage infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
- Assist in the fabrication of prosthodontics using 3D scanners as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and handling insurance claims.
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to better serve our diverse community.
- Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control practices within a dental setting.
- Experience with prosthodontics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental management software is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is required.
- Ability to take X-rays safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
