Position Overview : As a Cardiovascular Technologist with Vascular Interventional Radiography at our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and vascular diseases. Your expertise will be essential in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.
Shift or schedule requirements.
Call is required for IR, the team consists of 1 provider, 1 nurse, 1 Scrub Rad Tech, 1 Circulator
10 hour or 8 hour shifts, starting from 630-530, with call.
Every 3-4th weekend (Friday 1730- Monday 0700)
Up to 3 call shifts during the week (1730-0700)
Key Responsibilities :
- Vascular Interventional Radiography : Perform a wide range of vascular interventional radiography procedures including angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and thrombolysis under the guidance of a radiologist.
- Cardiovascular Imaging : Assist in cardiovascular imaging procedures such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Patient Care : Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and provide emotional support to alleviate anxiety. Monitor patients during procedures and respond promptly to any complications or changes in their condition.
- Equipment Operation : Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, including angiography machines, fluoroscopy units, and ultrasound devices, ensuring their proper functionality and cleanliness.
- Radiation Safety : Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself. Monitor radiation doses and maintain accurate records.
- Documentation : Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any complications in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure smooth workflow in the catheterization and radiology labs.
- Continuing Education : Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiovascular technology and vascular interventional radiography by attending training sessions, conferences, and workshops.
- Quality Assurance : Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and departmental efficiency.
