Position Overview :
We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technicians to join our network of healthcare professionals. As an MLT contracted through our staffing agency, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, research facilities, and blood banks. This flexible role offers the freedom to choose assignments based on your availability and preferences.
Responsibilities :
Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures on patient specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and body fluids, to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of medical conditions.
Operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation, such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and automated analyzers, to analyze and interpret test results accurately and efficiently.
Prepare and analyze specimens according to established protocols and quality control standards, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Document test results, observations, and procedures accurately and in accordance with laboratory policies and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, and assist with ordering and restocking as needed to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for laboratory staff and patients.
Qualifications :
Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
Current and valid certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT).
Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an MLT in a relevant healthcare setting preferred.
Proficiency in performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance (QA) protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
